Krafty Tips and Tutes - Masking!!

Hi Everyone!

Hope all of you are enjoying this Victoria Day this weekend and if you aren't celebrating I hope you also had a wonderful weekend!

Today I have a quick tutorial for you on how to mask your images to include multiple stamps on a card or in an image.

For this weeks Tips and Tutes I used Party Monsters! This set is by Emilie Goulet and includes three fun images and 5 sentiments!

First you want to assemble your basic supplies. For this you will need your stamp set, block, stamp pad, scissors, copic paper and some scrap paper. Note: your scrap paper should be thin as you will stamp on this and don't want a raised line if you were to use a thicker cardstock.

Next you will want to pick the images to you want to put together. I chose two monsters. You will need to stamp the one you wish to be in the foreground on both sheets of paper.

Once this is done you will need to fussy cut the one on your scrap paper. Patience is a virtue when doing this :) as your end result will be worth it!

Once you have cut it out you can either lay it over your image on the copic paper or you can use a bit of two sided tape to lightly hold it down.

Once you have it down you will need to take your other image and stamp it over your covered image.

I know it looks weird right now but here is the fun part. You can peel away your fussy cut image and...

VOILA!!!!!

Now you are ready to color up your images and have some fun!!

Hope you enjoyed this weeks Tips and Tutes, until next time!

  2. I am so terrible at fussy cutting. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried embossing a stamped image for the mask so you can have a firm edge as a cutting guideline? I was also wondering if it would be helpful to create a mask out of vellum paper? Thanks so much.
