Krafty Tips and Tuts - Making a tag from scratch!

Good morning everyone!  Krafty Girl Melany here and today I have a photo tutorial of my process on making a tag. So grab a drink and kraft along with me.

1) Get everything you'll need

2) Using Strathmore Mixed Media cardstock, I cut a 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 rectangle

3) To make equal corners on my tag, I cut the first one, then I flip it and use it as model to cut the second one

4) Using the PERFECT PLAID stencil I applied YUMMY YELLOW  hybrid ink!

5) Then, I shifted the stencil a bit and applied PRETTY IN PINK hybrid ink!

6) Now, it's time for making some embellishment
a) I'm using the HOLLY stencil and a pencil to trace 3 leaves

b) I colored the leaves using BG10-BG72-BG18. Then, I outlined them with a black marker and added some sparkle with my Wink of Stella brush

7) I used the LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE stamp set for my sentiment

a) First, I embossed "SPARKLE" in gold and outlined it to make it pop

b) Then, I stamped in black, directly on the tag, "LET YOUR LIGHT"

8) I glued my sentiment on a sticker tag to make it pop even more and to ground it. I added some foam behind "SPARKLE" to cast an interesting shadow and add dimension

9) I embellished with my HOLLY leaves and some punched ones

10) I inked my reinforcement sticker with the PRETTY IN PINK ink and added twine

11) Time for finishing touches: mini Christmas lights, stickers and LOVELY DOTS

Here's the final result!

I hope you had fun making a tag with me. Can't wait to see yours!
Have a very good day!
