Hi, Krafty Girl Marilyn here, and today I have a card for you using the new Buds & Blooms stamp set.  I've used distress inks to water color the flowers. A bit of fancy designer paper and then embossed the sentiment on vellum with gold powder!

We're back today with our final set of the new release of clear stamps!  We've got an absolutely stunning floral set
 from artist Becky Pearce!

This beautiful stamp set is called BUDS & BLOOMS! and has so many gorgeous elements to get creative with plus a bunch of lovely sentiments for a total of FIFTEEN stamps!

February Krafty Previews.....Day ONE!!! Hello Spring!!!

February Krafty Previews!!!

Well, we haven't had much of a winter season here on Ontario this year...which is fine with me!!  Because I'm looking ahead to..............SPRING!!!
That's the theme for this month's release and I think you're going to be inspired by all the joyful and sunshiney designs we have in store for you!

Today we are kicking things off with a sweet little set by artist, Becky Pearce called.....what else.....HELLO SPRING!

There are so many sweet little images that you can put together and mix and match!  Plus three coordinating sentiments for a total of 18 fun stamps!

KRAFTY TIPS & TUTES - SHADOW BOX CARD!

Good Morning Krafty friends, Krafty Girl Marilyn here!!  Today I'm going to show you how to make a "Shadow Box" card.  A Shadow Box card has an insert in the middle of the card with a 1/2 inch depth, like my card featured below.  

Supplies:  Cardstock, scoring tool, ruler, craft knife and tape. 
                  I used the LOVE STORY SENTIMENTS stamp for my card.

Cut your cardstock to 5 inches X 10 1/2 inches, and then score at 5 inches and 5 1/2 inches.  Fold along score lines.  This will give you a finished card size of 5 inches by 5 inches with a 1/2 inch depth for the shadow box.

Now to make the "box" part of the card.  This card will have a 3 inch square insert.  We are going to create score lines for this insert.  This will be done on the front of your card. 
You will measure and mark 1 inch from the outside edge of each side.  Then you will make score lines from 1 inch to 4 inches on all sides.  Then measure in a 1/2 inch from the first set of score lines and score from 1 1/2 inches to 3 1/2 inches on all 4 sides.  You should have two squares scored in the middle of your card like the picture below.  This is the inside.

Here is a picture from the outside with the scored lines.

We are going to cut the opening for the insert using the score lines that we just made.  On the inside of the card I usually put a small pencil mark on each corner so I will know where to end the cut.

Using a ruler and craft knife or paper cutter you will cut from corner to corner on a diagonal of the score lines forming an "X" cut in the square just like the picture above.  The cut goes from the outer score lines which I have placed a small pencil mark to the other pencil mark on the diagonal.

Then you open and crease each of the  score lines like in the pictures below.

You then add tape to the area that will hold the insert like in this picture.

Next cut a 3 inch square using the same card stock.  I also cut a 2 7/8 by 2 7/8 inch square of designer paper for decoration.  Then just place it into the opening and you will have your shadow box card. 

The sides of your card around the opening will be 1 inch wide.  I added a layer of card stock and then a layer of designer paper for a finishing touch.  Once you make the shadow box card there is no limit to how you can decorate it.  You can make this card any size with a larger or smaller insert.  The method will be the same.

Krafty Girl Kelli here! For my card I used the new Talk to the Animals stamp set.  I kept it VERY CAS by just coloring my image and reverse matting it on a piece of Doodlebug DP with the center die cut out, a few pearls and BAM!  Insta YAY!
