Challenge #559 ~ Green & Red OR Purple & Blue

Good morning and welcome to another fabulous and fun Saturday Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

This week, Krafty Girl Allison is your hostess and her challenge for you is to make a  card or project using a Red & Green colour combo OR a Blue & Purple colour combo!

 Hello Krafty peeps!  Ally here!  I hope our American friends had a great Thanksgiving!

I love traditional holiday colours. You know, the gorgeous reds and greens of the season.  But there's something special about getting a non-traditional card with a fun colour combination.  So this week I challenge you to use the traditional red & green colour scheme or try using a non-traditional blue & purple combination!

 

For my card this week, I wanted to use the adorable "Yeti or Not" stamp set using those crazy Yeti characters!  I began by stamping my Yetis and the mountains in the background using Totally Taupe ink.  This colour is perfect for no-line colouring!

For my sky, I used Amazing Azure, Sparkling Sapphire, Stormy Sky ink.  Plus I had to add a few fun snowflakes from the Sparkling Snowflakes Stencil.   My greeting today is from the beautiful "Snowflake Kisses" stamp set.  A few "Pastel Krafty Dots" made the card complete!

November Release Hop and Shop!

Today we are celebrating all the new fabulous holiday goodies in our November Release that are NOW available in the

Hi everybody! It's Krafty Girl Melanie here to share my Inspirational Wednesday creation.

I created this fun watercoloured card featuring our adorable stamp set Jolly Happy Snowmen. I stamped the snowman and the background stamp in Granite Grey ink before painting the scene. I also added some Stardust Stickles for a finishing touch.

Hello Krafty peeps - happy weekend to each of you!

I love Fall  with all the beautiful, earthy and lovely colors, hiking and college football! However, winter is always right around the corner too and has it own type of beauty and fun activities.  Since I couldn't decide which I really wanted to focus on I thought I'd let you pick which one you want to do. 

 I absolutely ADORE the IT'S TURKEY DAY! stamp set so I picked Fall for my theme and made an easel card (it's been a hot minute since I last did that).  The sentiment is from Pumpkin Kisses.

Inspirational Wednesday- You're Gnaw-Some

Hello Krafty Friends!

It's INSPIRATIONAL WEDNESDAY,

the day we provide you with a bit of extra krafty inspiration to help you get creative with your krafty stamps!

Hello, it's me krafty girl Brigitte and I wanted to show the cards I made using the stamp set YOU'RE GNAW-SOME. With a little bit of creativity, you can make it a perfect Christmas set!!!

I used Echo Park patterned papers. You might notice that these cards are very similar to some I made for Canada Day. A friend asked me to make some Christmas cards for his in-laws in Japan. He wanted something VERY Canadian, lol!!!! So I thought that beavers would be perfect, but he also wanted Canada written in big letters!!! So this is the result!!!!

I first started by inking the images with Sandy Shores hybrid ink for a no line effect. I then coloured the beavers with Prismacolor pencils. I added hand drawn hats and candy canes. You can also use the hat from the stamp set Reindeer Games!!!

To finish off these unusual Christmas cards, I added some Krafty Dots and Stickles on the edges.

Krafty Tips & Tuts: Making a Scrapbooking Layout

 Good morning everyone!

Welcome to a new Tips & Tuts. Krafty Girl Melany here with a picture by picture scrapbooking layout process. I hope you'll follow along with me. Sit back, grab a drink and a pair of scissors, and let's go!

First, I chose my stamp set and a collection to work with. It helps me to pick colors for my stamped images. Today, I'm playing with the TRENDY TEES ICONS stamp set.

I will use these icons to make a stitched banner that will decorate my layout

I cut some small images to add to the banner and to the layout

I outlined the small tags to make them pop

Time for the banner:

a) on a piece of tissue paper, I glued the icons. This will help on the stitching phase

 

b) Stitching with the sewing machine

c) Removing the tissue paper behind the banner (I must admit that this step was a kind of a pain in the butt! lol!)

Here's a fun banner to decorate your layout!

I chose this Crate Paper polka dotted paper for my background. I think it adds to the whimsy of my icons banner

Adding some mats under the pictures to make them pop

I "cheated cut" my pink paper to make it look bigger!

I popped up one of my photo with fun foam

My base is done. Time for smaller paper details

a) I stamped the "ROCK ON" icon on a fish tail banner. It will add a fun detail to one of my pic

b) I cut the top left corner of my page to add a touch of color and 2 tags to bring your eyes to the banner

c) I added some fussy cut books to add some details on the left side and a small tag on the main pic

Since I don't know what to do with the down right side of the layout yet, I decided to work on my title while I'm thinking about it

a) I always put my title on wax paper, so I can move it around to see where I want to put it

b) I decided to put my smaller word on some tags to ground it. I machine stitched it to add some texture

Here's what I've decided to do with my down right corner. I tried to add all of the 3 main colors and sewed the cluster. Now, I have a nice diagonal of sewing: the banner, the title and the down cluster

Time for smaller "non paper" embellishments. I went very simple with only 1 puffy sticker, white twine and the teal dots from the POLAR DOTS to bring a bit more of the teal that's in the little flower from the banner. I outlined the dots to make them pop

 

And now, here's the final result! I can't wait to see your take on this layout!
