Challenge #543 Use A Sketch!

Good morning and welcome to another
fabulous and fun Saturday Challenge

Are you ready for another fun and krafty challenge to inspire you and help get your creative juices flowing?
We've got some fabulous ideas for you
and can't wait to see what you create!

This week, krafty girl Karla is your hostess and her challenge theme for you is:

....Use A Sketch! - you get to choose the sketch!

Hello friends!
It's Karla here today with a fun challenge for you! I love starting with a sketch - I always find it takes me in different directions than I would have gone if I just sat down with my supplies. For today's card, I'm using the August Kraftin' Kimmie Sketch you can see below and I used  fun backgrounds I created with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Stencils.

I coloured up the adorable NEW Be A Mermaid Stamps with Copic Markers and popped them up on foam dots over the background.
kraftin' kimmie stamps, mermaids, cardmaking, mixed media, dina wakley gloss sprays, texture paste, stencils, copic markers, summer
You can see the Summer Sunbeams Stencil peeking out from the first layer, which I created with Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays and then embossed one of the sweet sentiments from the Be A Mermaid. (You can check out fun Sunbeam Stencil techniques in this video HERE!) Next I layered a watercoloured background that I created in this video HERE with the Nautical Netting Stencil and Distress Oxide Sprays. For the third layer I added part of a background created with the She Sells Seashells Stencil (try saying that 5 x's fast!) and Kraftin' Kimmie Inks. And for the bottom layer I took an inky background I had in colours that matched and stamped seashells from the Be A Mermaid Stamp Set with Sandy Shores Ink. I added in some pretty NEW Summer Krafty Dots and my card is finished!

Inspirational Wednesday - Ewe Are Amazing

Hello krafty friends!
It's INSPIRATIONAL WEDNESDAY,
the day we provide you with a bit of extra
krafty inspiration to help you get creative
with your krafty stamps!

Hello, it's Krafty Guy Stephen here!

I recently started to learn how to spin...and by spin, I mean yarn. I have really enjoyed learning this new craft and it has opened my eyes to a whole new world...the fibre arts. I am almost finished my class and I knew I wanted to make a card for my teacher to thank her for sharing her knowledge with me. I immediately thought of the Ewe Are Amazing stamp set.
This set features several lovely sentiments and two super cute sheep.  I stamped  the sentiment and image in  Wicked Black ink and used my Copics to colour the image . I also used some coloured pencils and got to use some new skills  I learned from fellow KKS DT member Paula while attending the Kraftin' Kimmie retreat a few weeks back. To finish off my card, I added a strip of black cardstock and some striped pattern paper.

I hope you like my card creation and look forward to seeing you around the Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Friends FB group with your own creations.

Until next time - Stephen

Ewe Are Amazing is on sale this week so hop on over to the shop to scoop it up.

Thanks for visiting!

Inspirational Wednesday: Christmas in September!

Hello krafty friends!
It's INSPIRATIONAL WEDNESDAY,
the day we provide you with a bit of extra
krafty inspiration to help you get creative
with your krafty stamps!

Hello, it's Krafty Girl, Melanie here!

Since our September release featured Christmas themed stamps and products, I felt it would be fun to continue an early festive mood by revisiting one of our older holiday sentiment sets, CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS SENTIMENTS.

This set features several lovely sentiments in different fonts perfect for so many Christmas projects. I stamped one of the sentiment in  Wicked Black ink on some patterned paper. All paper edges were sponged in Marvelous Mocha ink then topped with gold paint and bit of gold frantage that was hit with a heat gun. I added a chipboard ornament painted in gold and finished it off with a few dots of red stickles.

CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS SENTIMENTS is on sale this week so hop on over to the shop to scoop it up.

Don't forget to check out all the new release goodies from this month. We have new stamps, stencils, dots and ink!

Thanks for visiting!

Are you ready ?

Hope you enjoyed watching

Challenge #474 - Spring!

Hello and welcome to another fun
Saturday Challenge!
Are you ready for some krafty fun?
We can't wait for you to play along and share your amazing krafty kreations!

This week our hostess is Krafty Girl, Melanie and
your challenge is....
SPRING!

Happy Saturday everybody!
For my Spring challenge card, I created a watercoloured scene using two of our stamp sets.

I first stamped the adorable little deer from our brand new Fawn'd of You set...such a perfect set for our Spring theme! I also pulled out an unexpected set: Spooky Silhouettes. While this set was included in a Halloween release, I find the tree stamp to be extremely versatile! I stamped both images in our Totally Taupe Ink on Arches cold pressed watercolour paper.  I started by dropping in the sky and grass. I then worked on painting the tree canopy as pink blossoms. As the tree was stamped in a light brown ink, I was still able to layer a few different brown paints to create a bark-like texture. I used a little white gauche to paint the spots on the fawns's backside.

Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like!  These must be new creations and you are welcome to use any stamp, however using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp will earn you double entries!  Each submission will enter you into the monthly draw of a $40 gift voucher to the krafty shop!

We've also got a brand new sketch to inspire you for the month of March!  You don't have to use it but it's there for you to use if you need a little kickstart....feel free to use it any time!

There are two ways to enter our challenges!  1) you can link up your entries at the bottom of this post and 2) share your KKS creations in our Krafty Friends facebook group!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Also don't miss this weekend's FRUGAL FRIDAY SPECIALS!
We've got a selection of stamp sets on SALE 40% OFF this weekend only and while supplies last!

Happy kraftin'!

Challenge #460 - Stencils!

Welcome to another fun Krafty Challenge!
Are you ready for some krafty fun??
We want you all to play along and we love to see your creations so let's get KRAFTY!

This week is all about....
STENCILS!

We know how much fun you've been having making creations featuring our brand new Krafty Stencils and Hybrid Inks!
So that's this week's challenge!

Hello Krafty friends! I hope that many of you have had the chance to get your fingers on our new inks and stencils...they are amazing! They have quickly become "must have" items! For my card this week, I stamped one of the snowmen from the Super Cool Pals stamp set in our Totally Taupe ink on cold-pressed cotton watercolour paper. After watercolouring the image (I actually started this project during a live colour-along video earlier this week on our Facebook page) I used our Sparkling Snowflake stencil and some white gouache to create the snowy sky. I then flicked some drops of white on the sky to add some smaller "flakes." I also added a pattern to the snowman's jacket with our Beautiful Burlap stencil and Marvelous Mocha ink.

Every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you can enter as many times as you like!  Each submission will enter you into the monthly prize......which is a $40 gift voucher to the krafty shop!

We've also got a fun sketch for your inspiration for December!  You don't have to use it but if you need a little extra kickstart in your mojo, feel free to use it any time!

ALSO don't miss our 12 Krafty Days of Khristmas going on on this blog every day with chances to WIN prizes!  And don't miss our FINAL FRUGAL FRIDAY of 2018!
